This grant, awarded by the University of Michigan, defrays expenses for travel to the University of Michigan's Hatcher library for research into Chinese studies, which occured in late July. At Ann Arbor I consulted their large collection of Manchu language memorials from Xinjiang in the Qing Period. It also allows for contineud access to Michigan's electronic resources for an extended period of time.
