Rhonda is awarded EALC's Summer Research Fellowship. She will use this fellowship for the tuition of Indiana University's Mongolian Summer Workshop. Learning Mongolian would allow her to write a paper about Qian Daxin's (錢大昕）research on Mongolian history. She will investigate how Qian's participation in the Qing's imperial cultural project on 大清一統志 helped him master the Mongolian language and developed his personal interest in Mongolian history.
