Does your unit use a shadow system to manage day-to-day financial activity? If so, please keep the following in mind:
- All financial activity recorded in a shadow system must be reconciled to Banner on a timely basis.
- Any discrepancies between your unit’s shadow system and Banner must be investigated and promptly resolved to ensure all financial activity is accurately reflected in Banner (and not solely in the shadow system).
- Since the University of Illinois System’s audited financial statements rely on Banner data (not shadow system data), it is essential that Banner contains complete and accurate financial information.
