This announcement applies to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign only.
RK Dixon has been a long-standing partner of the university, providing service for copier and printer devices. Previously, the RK Dixon staff physically visited departments to read meters and calculate service charges. Moving forward, RK Dixon will use a more efficient and modern approach using XDA software.
This transition brings several benefits:
- Improved accuracy of meter readings
- Timely and streamlined billing
- Department-level usage reports
- No cost to departments
The university’s IT and risk assessment teams have approved XDA by granting access via host names or IPs on our campus networks.
The current manual meter reading and invoicing system (referred to as the “feeder”) will be phased out on June 30, 2025.
To avoid service disruption, departments must install XDA and ensure that purchase orders (POs) are submitted for continued service. Failure to do so may result in copier/printer service being cut off.
Without meter data via XDA, RK Dixon cannot generate accurate service invoices, and devices may be removed from service.
How to install XDA
The XDA team will send:
- A custom installation link
- Department-specific instructions based on your device list
