Accounting: Introduction to Banner and Finance II
In this instructor-led Zoom course, you will expand your Banner and finance knowledge. We will demonstrate how to navigate Banner and use various pages to search for departmental financial information. We will explain in detail the structure of the C-FOAPAL string and the importance of each segment for your department and University of Illinois System financial reporting. You will also be introduced to the principles of fund accounting, the Operating Ledger, and the General Ledger.

Property Accounting: FABweb Additions & Updates
FABweb is a critical tool in the management of a unit's equipment inventory records in Banner. In this instructor-led Zoom course, you will learn the correct procedures for using FABweb to process new equipment acquisitions and update records for existing equipment. This course explains how FABweb interacts with Banner and demonstrates how to find equipment information in both FABweb and Banner. In addition, this course discusses FABweb security, the parent/child relationship of equipment, and how to request non-cash additions to inventory. Proper disposal of university equipment is an important process in the equipment management lifecycle. In this instructor-led Zoom course, you will gain a crucial understanding how to accurately analyze and organize disposal requests on behalf of your unit. You will practice evaluating real-life scenarios to develop problem-solving skills.

Accounting: Journal Voucher Processing I, II & III
This three-part session provides hands-on experience analyzing, creating, and successfully completing journal vouchers. In this instructor-led Zoom course, you will use Banner and other resources to gather this information for different scenarios. Using a journal voucher template, we will organize the information before using the Banner 9 Playground to create journal vouchers to correct the various scenarios. Finally, you will review the journal vouchers to confirm these new transactions accomplished the necessary corrections.
You must complete the Journal Voucher Certificate Track to participate in this series.

This presentation enhances the information in the University of Illinois Closing/Opening Procedures document. Join University Payables, University Payroll and Benefits, Purchasing and University Accounting & Financial Reporting as we explain the importance of initiating and posting transactions in the appropriate fiscal year, identifying significant deadlines and how to avoid common errors. The course explores the impact of having two fiscal years open simultaneously on daily activities and prepares you for the transition to the next fiscal year. Anyone with financial and payroll responsibilities is encouraged to attend.
