  • Tablet markers over the entrance of the Main Library, which is a historic library on the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Built in 1924, the library was the third built for the school, replacing Altgeld Hall, which had become too small for the university's collections. Architect Charles A. Platt designed the Georgian Revival building, one of several on the campus which he designed in the style.     Mortenson Center Associates Program 'poised for impact' in 2026; applications accepted until Nov. 21

    The Mortenson Center for International Library Programs is accepting applications for the 2026 Mortenson Center Associates Program until Nov. 21.  

    This program will offer individuals working in a library or information services setting outside the United States an opportunity to explore critical issues and trends in the library field and engage with librarians implementing cutting-edgeprograms and services.
