    We are a social psychology lab with a focus on attitudes, behavior change, and health applications. Current projects include action vs. inaction goals, how people make decisions, emotional appeals in messages, and changing your life step by step vs. overhauling your life completely.

    We are looking for reliable and highly motivated RAs for the Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 semesters. You will have the opportunity to interact directly with participants, organize studies, review materials, and learn about the theory and methodology behind our research. PSYC 290 credit is available.

  • Spring 2019 Research Assistants needed for Prof. Minkyung Koo in Marketing

    The psychology and marketing lab, led by Dr. Minkyung Koo, seeks a motivated, curious, and meticulous undergraduate student for the Spring Semester (2019). Our research focuses on understanding psychological processes behind consumer behavior and decision making. Students will have an opportunity to participate in all phases of research on this topic, including conducting lab experiments and field studies with consumers in natural settings as well coding and finding study materials. A current graduate research assistant will guide you through the whole process step by step.

    We prefer that students commit to work with us in exchange for independent study credit (2 credits at 6 hours a week) and an invaluable research experience. In addition, we also prefer students that can commit for more than one semester. Credit is available in BA199. This is great experience for students who are thinking about graduate school in psychology and/or business.

    Research assistants will have the opportunity to code video recordings of parents and children. The goal is to examine parents' role in children's math learning in early elementary school years. Students must be responsible, thoughtful and meticulous. PSYC 290 credit is available. Minimum GPA requirement to apply: 3.0

    The Center for Parent-Child Studies is seeking undergraduate research assistants to help with our research in Fall 2018 and gain valuable research experience. Our current project is interested in how math skills develop in the early elementary school years and the roles that parents play in this.

    Research assistants will have the opportunity to work directly with parents and child to run participants through the lab, recruit and schedule families, organize data collection, code video recordings and more. Students must be responsible, thoughtful and enthusiastic. PSYC 290 credit is available.

  • Summer 2019 Research Assistant: Behavioral coding for mother-child interaction in the U.S. and China

    We're looking for undergraduate research assistants to code mother-child interaction in a cross-cultural study in Summer 2019.

    To apply, students need to have substantive expreince in both the U.S. and Chinese cultureS (e.g., lived in China in childhood and moved to the U.S. in adolescence, fluent in both English and Mandarin). If you have an interest in language and in early development, this may be the lab for you.

    Research assistants will have the opportunity to assist with all aspects of the research, including testing children and adults in experiments, coding children's visual fixations in 'preferential looking' comprehension tasks, transcribing and coding children's speech in language production tasks, and learning to run studies using an automatic eye-tracker.   • Spring 2019 Research Assistants for an Online Twin Study

    Dr. Jaime Derringer is recruiting undergrad RAs for Spring 2019, to help set up a new online twin study.

    Psyc 290 Research Assistants will: obtain ethics and HIPAA training certificates, organize IRB applications, set up study materials in RedCap and Qualtrics, assist in setting up and maintaining a participant-facing study website, and write summaries of recent research suitable for blog and/or twitter content targeted at participant recruitment.

  • Summer 2018 Research Assistants Needed for the TACoS Study!

    The TACoS (Transdiagnostic Affective & Cognitive Systems) Study is seeking undergraduate research assistants to assist with our research study starting for this Summer semester. Our study seeks to understand emotion and behavior in adults with a history of substance abuse and/or aggression.

    Research assistants will have the opportunity to assist with screening and scheduling eligible participants, code diagnostic interviews, and run participants in the lab. This study provides undergraduate students with unique opportunities to gain exposure to diagnostic clinical interviews, work with a clinical population, administer cognitive tasks, learn various aspects of EEG methodology (including capping participants). This opportunity may be especially useful for students interested in pursuing clinical psychology. PSYC 290 credit is available.
