  • Illinois Minimum Wage Increases to $12.00 Per Hour on January 1, 2022

The rate for all hourly-paid employees who earn less than $12.00/hour will be updated by Illinois Human Resources using an automated program. Impacted employee groups include Civil Service, Extra Help, Academic Hourly, Undergraduate Hourly, and Graduate Hourly. When processing hourly appointments that are paid less than $12.00/hour and have an end-date after January 1st, enter the new $12.00 minimum wage increase as an Employee Job Record Change (ERC) effective January 1, 2022. This will allow the rate to update automatically. Departments should monitor and adjust work hours for students with Federal Work Study to ensure the maximum allowable earnings are not exceeded.

For questions, email IHR-Compensation@illinois.edu or call Student Employment at (217) 333-0600.

Our print communications, including HR Newscast agendas, Zoom invitations, and meeting notes, will be disseminated via the HR Newsfeed.

If you are not sure if you are on the HR Newsfeed list, don’t worry; we’ve consolidated the old HR Systems distribution and the HR Newsfeed distribution.
