For the Meitner Curie Fireslides all members of the department are invited to submit a single powerpoint slide to introduce themselves.
Include your name, your area of interest, any current projects, and your interests/hobbies outside of Physics. Pictures of your work, your pets, and yourself are completely acceptable and encouraged.
On the day of the event, the slides will be compiled into one giant quick fireslide deck. When your slide comes up, you will come to the front and introduce yourself and your slide. 2 minutes and you're done.
There will be cake and punch, you will learn about your peers, faculty, and staff in the department. More than likely, you'll meet people you didn't know shared your interests.
