About this Opportunity
DOE's Office of European and Eurasian Affairs, within the Office of International Affairs, provides focused technical assistance to Ukraine's energy system. With guidance from a mentor, the selected fellow will have a hands-on learning experience with U.S. government and national laboratory technical assistance to Ukraine and its surrounding region. This technical assistance covers a wide range of activities, from modeling of natural gas systems to policy analysis surrounding energy use for reindustrialization.
The Fellow will have the opportunity to participate in study design and analysis; collaborate with laboratory experts, interagency stakeholders, and foreign counterparts; and observe the briefing process for senior DOE officials. The Fellow will not participate in activities or handle information requiring a security clearance, nor will they act as a representative of the U.S. government in interactions with foreign officials.

Qualifications: To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must:
• Be a U.S. Citizen
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have earned their master’s or doctoral degree by anticipated start date.
The ideal candidate will have completed a master’s or other advanced degree. Due to the broad range of technical assistance and collaboration opportunities within this fellowship, a wide range of educational backgrounds will be considered. However, applicants should have demonstrated interest in energy policy and/or international relations and the ability to understand and evaluate technical material on energy systems.
