ReliaStar Life Insurance Company, a part of ING Insurance, has formally notified the University that it will discontinue new enrollments in the plan effective July 1, 2011.
Coverage for current participants will continue according to policy provisions as long as premiums are paid through payroll deduction or direct payment to ING/ReliaStar. Coverage amounts will continue at current levels. However, with the discontinuation there will no longer be opportunities to increase coverage amounts in the future.
The University is working to provide a replacement to the TriTerm policy and will publish information on NESSIE as it becomes available.
