    A Career-Changing Opportunity for Undergraduate Students

     The IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative is now accepting applications for the 2026 cycle. This program rewards high-performing undergraduate students interested in power and energy with financial support and real-world career connections. 

    We were able to award 244 students with the scholarship in 2025, and our goal is to sustain this growth. We need your help promoting this opportunity. 

    What Selected Students Receive:

    •  Up to US$10,000 toward education expenses.

    •  Networking opportunities with industry professionals.

    •  Direct connections to P&E companies and internships

     Eligibility:

    •  Full-time undergraduate student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

    •  Pursuing a degree in an IEEE designated field (including Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physical Sciences, and more).

     •  Attending an ABET/CEAB-accredited university or college in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Canada.

    •  Completion (or planned completion) of at least 3 courses related to power and energy.

    •  U.S. citizen, Canadian citizen, or U.S. permanent resident.

  • Apply Today! Marine Energy Fellowship – Graduate Student Track, Fall Cohort

    The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Hydropower Office enables research, development, and testing of emerging technologies to advance marine energy as well as next-generation hydropower and pumped storage systems for a flexible, reliable grid.

    Marine energy technologies convert the energy of waves, tides, and river and ocean currents into electricity and have the potential to provide millions of Americans with locally sourced, reliable energy. The DOE-funded Marine Energy Fellowship: Graduate Student Track will strengthen those efforts by preparing graduate students for careers in marine energy important to the Hydropower Office by providing opportunities at DOE laboratories, industry organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), nonprofits, and other DOE-approved facilities.

    Marine Energy Fellowship applications are reviewed (and offers are made) two times per year:

    Summer Cohort | Start Dates: May-July. Application Deadline: December 12, 2025 at 5:00pm ET. 

    Fall Cohort | Start Dates: August-October. Application Deadline: March 27, 2026 at 5:00pm ET.

    HAND ERC’s 2026 Research Experience for Undergraduates 

    Program (REU) is being hosted at Texas A&M University this summer.

     Alongside research, REU participants have the opportunity to build a professional network of peers and mentors. HAND will lead professional development training and workshops on topics like participatory methods, communication, and technical writing throughout the program. Our goal is for participants to end the summer with a better understanding of the importance and impact of robotics dexterity, as well as of their own professional goals and how to achieve them.

     HAND is thrilled to have this opportunity to build excitement for the democratization of robotics while enhancing robotics education across the U.S. as we develop future leaders in the field of robotics dexterity.

    Voyager Scholarship Information Session

    Have you demonstrated a commitment to public service? Do you plan to pursue a career in public service upon graduation? Will you be a junior in Fall 2026? If so, the Voyager Scholarship is for you!

    Eligibility
    U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA recipients who are entering their junior year (will be a junior in Fall 2026), with a 3.0+ GPA and demonstrated financial need are eligible to apply. 

    The Voyager Scholarship (Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service) is awarded to students focused on public service careers. A career in public service includes a range of occupations in government, non-profits or the private sector, from community organizing to social work and from entrepreneurship to the arts—all committed to solving our biggest challenges together. It provides up to $80,000 toward your education ($25,000/yr of financial aid for junior and senior year, $10,000 for a summer experience, and $2,000 annually for 10 years for travel).
