    The application is now open for several MEP and ARISE leadership opportunities, and we’d love for you to apply! Positions include ENG 111 Peer Mentor, EMBARK Orientation Volunteer, ARISE Summer Bridge RA, and NACME Virtual Bridge Peer Mentor.

    These roles are a great way to give back, build leadership skills, support incoming engineering students, and get more involved with the MEP community. You can apply to be considered for more than one position, so be sure to check out all the options! 

    All positions are paid, with the exception of the EMBARK Volunteer role, which is unpaid but covers housing during the program for students living in university housing.

  • Upcoming Deadline for Support from Last Mile Education Fund

    If you have students finishing their degree this semester who are facing financial challenges, please encourage them to apply as soon as possible. Funding takes time to process, and seniors who wait too long may graduate before assistance can reach them. The sooner they apply, the better their chances of receiving support before the semester ends.

    Last Mile is designed for exactly these moments: fast, flexible funding for juniors and seniors in tech, engineering, and computing facing unexpected financial barriers. No GPA minimum. Rolling admissions. Awards ranging from $595 up to $10,000.

     Who qualifies:

    • Juniors and seniors within four semesters of completing a bachelor's degree

    • Majoring in tech, engineering, or computing fields

    • Facing financial challenges

    • Attending a U.S. institution and residing in the U.S.

  • The WIA Foundation Scholarship

    The WIA Foundation is pleased to provide scholarships to those who identify as women, who are interested in a career in the aerospace field to pursue higher education degrees in engineering, math or science. Four merit-based awards of $5,000 each will be given to rising juniors and seniors in college, to be applied to the 2026-2027 academic year.

    To be eligible for the WIA Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must be interested in pursuing a career in the aerospace field and be a rising junior or senior working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, math or science. An applicant must have completed at least two and a half academic years of full-time college work at the time of application and must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States or its territories, and plan to be enrolled in the subsequent academic year. Each applicant must have a college grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must identify as female and be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident. Applications will be available around mid-February for the subsequent academic year.

    The scholarship timeline is as follows:

    Mid-February:    Announcement and call for scholarship applicants

    June 16, 2026:    Application Deadline

    Late July:    Scholarship recipients announcement

    December 10, 2026:    Scholarship recipients honored at WIA Awards Dinner & Ceremony in Washington, DC.

  • TRIO Upward Bound Is Hiring for Summer 2026

    TRIO Upward Bound College Prep Academy is searching for compassionate, outcomes-oriented, student-centered, and innovative individuals for several positions during our summer program.  APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL ALL POSITIONS ARE FILLED. 

     TRIO Upward Bound is a college preparatory program housed within the Michael L. Jeffries, Sr. Center for Access and Academic Success on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. Our goal is to generate the skills and motivation necessary for high school completion, post-secondary enrollment, and completion.

     Positions available: Teachers (Must have a completed BA/BS); Summer Residential Program Assistant (UG/GRAD) and Overnight Summer Program Assistant (UG/GRAD)

  • IEEE Power & Energy Society SCHOLARSHIP PLUS INITIATIVE

    A Career-Changing Opportunity for Undergraduate Students

     The IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative is now accepting applications for the 2026 cycle. This program rewards high-performing undergraduate students interested in power and energy with financial support and real-world career connections. 

    We were able to award 244 students with the scholarship in 2025, and our goal is to sustain this growth. We need your help promoting this opportunity. 

    What Selected Students Receive:

    •  Up to US$10,000 toward education expenses.

    •  Networking opportunities with industry professionals.

    •  Direct connections to P&E companies and internships

     Eligibility:

    •  Full-time undergraduate student with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

    •  Pursuing a degree in an IEEE designated field (including Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physical Sciences, and more).

     •  Attending an ABET/CEAB-accredited university or college in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or Canada.

    •  Completion (or planned completion) of at least 3 courses related to power and energy.

    •  U.S. citizen, Canadian citizen, or U.S. permanent resident.
