Tea Ceremonies and Other Upcoming Events:
Japan House has many other events planned for this semester and beyond. Don’t forget that they offer the traditional Japanese tea ceremony every Thursday at 3:00 p.m., and on the third Saturday of each month (during the academic year) at 2:00 and 3:00 p.m.. Check their website at http://japanhouse.art.uiuc.edu/en/for more information and call 217-2449934 to make a reservation.
Put the Japan House Fall Open House on your calendar as well; on Saturday, October 25, 2014 tea ceremonies will be offered at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. for a reduced rate of $5 per person. No need for reservations, just purchase a ticket when you arrive! A special presentation by Aubrey and Jeremy Lapotin, owners of Arbor Teas, will take place at 1:00 p.m. Arbor Teas is a producer of high quality organic and Fair Trade teas based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We are delighted to have them here to talk about Japanese teas – and offer some tastings! Enjoy a tour of the gardens by Jim Bier at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The Arbor Teas presentation and the garden tour are free and open to all.
