Please mark your calendars for a very special free presentation on kabuki by Professor Shozo Sato and the performers of the Damine Kabuki troupe from Japan on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 6:00 pm at the Japan House. Although the Damine performance at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on the following day is sold out, the performers have kindly offered to do a short presentation at Japan House! You will learn about the history of Damine Kabuki and how the young children of this troupe learn this art form that has been in their family for generations! There will be a question and answer session guided by Professor Sato. We thank Professor Sato, who will be narrating the Krannert Center performance, for making this presentation and performance possible.
Japan House is located at 2000 S. Lincoln Avenue, Urbana, IL 61802; don't miss this special opportunity! This special event is free and open to all.
Thanks to the Japan House listserv for this information item.
