If you are a high achieving student in a Science, Math or Engineering Major, the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship might be in your future!  Are you a junior or advanced sophomore?  Do you plan to continue on to graduate school for a PhD?  Do you have a strong undergraduate research record?  

The University of Illinois is still accepting applications to nominate for this prestigious award.  The Goldwater Scholarship offers $7,500 to either sophomores or juniors in STEM disciplines who aim to pursue a Ph.D. in their field.  

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.  Goldwater Scholars frequently go on to garner prestigious graduate fellowships and embark on cutting-edge careers in academic research.  The deadline for consideration has been extended to January 15, 2015.
