Center for Advanced Study presents CAS/MillerComm2015 lecture on January 27, 2015: Adam Rudolph will give a CAS/ MillerComm2015 presentation, “GO: Organic Orchestra – Process and Prototype”, on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Knight Auditorium, Spurlock Museum, 600 South Gregory, Urbana.
Adam Rudolph is a George A. Miller Visiting Artist during his stay on campus. A pioneering “world music” percussionist and composer at the forefront of cross-cultural music projects since the late 1970’s, Adam Rudolph discusses his research and performance experiences in various music cultures over the past 40 years, and how aspects of their cosmologies inspire and influence his creative process. By illustrating this artistic background, he offers an evolutionary construct of GO: Organic Orchestra, a concept of techniques and compositional strategies for conducted improvisation that provides the ability to uniquely develop large performance ensembles uniting a wide-range of musical disciplines.”
