Now in its 14th year, the University YMCA's Dump & Run Community Recycling Program collects and sells several semi-trailers worth of reusable, quality goods out of Champaign-Urbana’s dumpsters and landfills each year. Dump and Run reduces litter and consumer waste, saves space in landfills, lowers dumping costs for certified housing and apartments, provides inexpensive items for folks to purchase in the fall.
Volunteers are needed to help with collections May 11-16, 2015 and help sorting these items at the YMCA May 18-22, 2015. When you volunteer, you get first dibs on the things collected (after only 6 hours of volunteering) - and the Y gets an unbelievable amount of great things donated!
