Want to give back to incoming students next school year? Get involved in ServiceFIRST. ServiceFIRST introduces new students to the local community through a half-day service project on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. There will be a 90 minute training session during the afternoon of Friday, August 21, 2015. Apply to be a Project Leader or get your RSO involved as a Project Partner.
Project Leaders will co-lead and supervise a group of 25 students with another Project Leader at a volunteer site, facilitate team building and reflection activities, serve as a positive role model for participants, and assist with setup, registration, and clean-up. RSO Project Partners will organize and lead their own service project or facilitate a service project organized by OVP for a group of 25 students (the group size can be larger upon request). The RSO is responsible to lead and supervise the group at a volunteer site, facilitate team building and reflection activities, serve as positive role models for participants, and assist with setup, registration, and clean-up. RSO and On-Campus Volunteer Opportunities: DREAAM Project
The DREAAM Project is looking for volunteers to assist in implementing a pilot educational project. DREAAM Project aims to develop an educational initiative committed to creating programs to teach and reach boys and young men from pre-kindergarten to college.
Volunteers are needed to help implement phase one of the DREAAM Project, which is a pilot kindergarten success project . The summer project will take place July 13-August 7, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Garden Hills Elementary School in Champaign.
