Kick off the new semester with a rare opportunity to work with Illinois students of all different backgrounds to do good in the community we all share.
There will be several projects that students will be taking part in on the Day of Service:
*Installing smoke detectors and educating the community about fire safety with Red Cross
*Packaging food, organizing, and cleaning at Wesley Pantry with Illini Fighting Hunger
*Sorting and organizing donations at the local Good Will stores
*Decorating beads for the Ben’s Bells project with Be Kind
*Mystery project with Salt and Light Ministries
*Assorted Crafts for donation in the community
Tell your friends to volunteer, too! If you have thought about volunteering in Champaign-Urbana before but never found the time, these service projects are a great way to get acquainted with volunteering in our community before the new semester begins!
Check-in and registration begins at 12:30 in the Illini Union Ballroom, followed by a welcome ceremony and the service projects. Pre-register to get priority check-in on the day of the event. The earlier you arrive increase your chances to get your top project choice. Walk-ins are welcome and will register at the door. Pre-register at: https://illinois.edu/fb/sec/5543573
