Here's a Facebook Event with more info and a plot summary: https://www.facebook.com/events/1021812397880147/.
Auditions will be this Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. at Room 150 in the English Building.
You aren't required to prepare anything or have any prior experience. Just stop by and perform any of the scenes available, and the cast list will come out within a day.
This production, set in an almost-modern period, explores the idea that Hell isn’t a place, but rather a state of being sundered from one's identity. Faustus and Mephistopheles will both go through parallel crises of identity, Faustus literally “selling his soul” and sacrificing his ambitions to spend 24 years in vain fantasy before being damned, and a jaded (and gender neutral in terms of casting!) Mephistopheles starting the play sinister but becoming more introspective and regretful. The play shows on the evenings of April 1 and 2, 2016.
