The Lorado Taft Lecture on “Urban Mobilities and the Panoramic Vision: Perspectives on Media Archaeology” will be given by Erkki Huhtamo, Departments of Design Media Arts, and Film, Television and Digital Media, UCLA, on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. in the Lawrence J. Plym Auditorium, Temply Hoyne Buell Hall.
Erkki Huhtamo is known as a founding figure of media archaeology. He has published extensively on media culture and media arts, lectured worldwide, given stage performances, curated exhibitions, and directed TV programs. He is a professor at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Departments of Design Media Arts, and Film, Television, and Digital Media. His most recent book is called Illusions in Motion: Media Archaeology of the Moving Panorama and Related Spectacles (MIT Press, 2013).
