Help the students of the Intensive English Institute improve their English language skills by meeting with them for only ONE hour each week for casual conversation and mutual cultural exchange. Volunteers must have a solid understanding of American customs and culture, have understandable English pronunciation, and have attended an American high school. Come along for the iENGAGE: Weekend Service and Camping Trip to Menno Haven Camp and Retreat Center in Tiskilwa, Illinois from Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2, 2016.
* Group leader applications are due August 28, and trip participant applications are due September 5, 2016. All trip participants must be University of Illinois students.
* All selected participants must attend the mandatory pre-trip and post-trip sessions on the following Tuesdays: September 20, September 27, and October 4, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
* The trip will be departing at 1:00 p.m. from the Illini Union on Friday, September 30 and returning on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at approximately 5:00 p.m.
* The trip costs $70 per student, which covers meals, lodging, camp activities, travel expenses, and a t-shirt. Please bring spending money to purchase additional items on the trip. Purchasing Sunday lunch will be the responsibility of each participant. Financial assistance is available.
