The Costa Rica trip is part of the Course CHP 199: The Intersections of a People & Their Environment. The purpose of the course is to engage with local Costa Ricans to learn about their culture and participate in a relationship and skill building. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, including school visits, rain forest excursions, an optional white water rafting trip, and much more. Each participant will be hosted by a Costa Rican family, and you will meet up with the rest of the team daily for activities.
So how much does the trip cost? The trip will be approximately $2,000. Since it is an academic course, you will be able to use Financial Aid. All questions regarding funding should be directed to the Office of Financial Aid. The course is a second 8 week course (3 credit hours) with most of the course happening during the Spring Break week.
Spots are limited, so don’t miss out on an experience of a lifetime! Brian Moffitt is available to answer any questions you have about the trip at moffittb@illinois.edu.
