Please note that “regular” CHP NewsBytes -- submissions to Elizabeth Rockman at rockman@illinois.edu – are usually sent on a Monday or Tuesday, and that the SAS series will be announced in the next couple weeks in another Special CHP NewsBytes. KDR SIGN-UPS BEGIN ON THURSDAY 2/2/17 (for May/August 2017 Graduates) AT 12:01 A.M. AND FRIDAY 2/3/17 (EVERYONE ELSE) AT 12:01 A.M.
Krannert Dress Rehearsal (KDR) program registration will begin on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. (for students graduating in May 2017 or August 2017) and Friday, February 3, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. (for everyone else). To register, go to the CHP website at http://honors.illinois.edu/, select Calendar, then go to the specific KDR in the Events Calendar to sign-up. We must limit the number of free passes to 30 at each KDR, so please sign up for only a single KDR per semester unless there is an announcement later that room has opened up in a specific KDR. The Honors Office confirms reservations (on a first-come basis) a few days before the rehearsal and at that time provides directions to the room in Krannert Center where the pre-performance mini-lecture will be given, free passes will be distributed, and students will sign the attendance sheet. Please be aware that space reservations are tentative, and that you must receive an e-mail confirmation from the CHP before you may attend any KDR. REMINDER: SIGN-UP DIRECTIONS FOR KDR’S (and other events such as SAS, etc.) Hopefully you have had a chance to log-in with your Bluestem password at the Campus Honors Program website – this is the process that will enable you to sign up for events. Once sign-up is open for KDRs (Thursday, 2/2/17 for students graduating in May 2017 or August 2017, Friday 2/3/17 for all other Chancellor's Scholars), you can go directly to the CHP Calendar to sign-up for those events that are open for sign-up, OR use the link for the specific event from the KDR section of the website. It will facilitate the process to attempt logging in now, even though you can’t yet sign up for anything, to (re)familiarize yourself with the process, as well as to (re)confirm you remember your Bluestem password. When you are done with any process within the CHP website, make sure to log-out – don’t just close your browser! If you have any questions about the SAS or KDRs, contact Elizabeth Rockman at rockman@illinois.edu or Margaret Cupps at cupps@illinois.edu (both can also be reached at the Honors House at [217] 244-0922); if you have any questions about logging into the CHP Events Calendar, please e-mail chp-computeradmins@illinois.edu for assistance. KDR’S: HOW THEY WORK Under the terms of our agreement with Krannert Center, the CHP must limit the number of free passes at each KDR, so as not to undermine ticket sales. These events are very popular and CHP's limited number of slots can't begin to accommodate all those who would like to attend. For that reason, interested students are advised to register immediately as soon as the sign-up period begins. Please sign up for only a single KDR per semester unless there is an announcement later that room has opened up in a specific KDR. The Honors House Office confirms reservations (on a first-come basis) a few days before the rehearsal and at that time provides directions to the room in Krannert where the pre-performance mini-lecture will be given, free passes will be distributed, and students will sign the attendance sheet. Please be aware that reservations are tentative, and that you must receive an e-mail confirmation from the CHP before you may attend any KDR. Also, please check your illinois.edu e-mail regularly and be prompt in replying to our reminders, so that we can accommodate someone on the waiting list if you are not able to attend for any reason.
