Impact of CSPs
Career Service Paraprofessionals (CSPs) are essential to the work of The Career Center. The CSPs are a group of 20-25 highly talented undergraduate students who facilitate career-related workshops, resume and cover letter reviews, and employer informational sessions. CSPs go through a comprehensive training process, which includes several hours of observations, designed for students to hone their abilities to effectively give presentations, facilitate discussions, and give constructive feedback.
Gain Valuable Experience: Throughout the academic year, our paraprofessionals serve as campus leaders in career development while gaining valuable experience that further develops career competencies.
Students develop their:
*Communication skills (oral, written, and listening)
*Ability to work in a team environment
*Customer service skills
*Career readiness
*Leadership skills
*Awareness of diversity
The Career Center recruits enthusiastic, talented, and diverse undergraduate students from all majors to apply for the CSP role during the spring semester. Once hired, CSPs begin an intensive training process and officially begin working in the Fall.
