This event is designed to promote SPIN projects that are available for the academic year 2017-2018 session. Academic year interns are expected to work 5h/w for 16 weeks each semester (Fall and Spring semesters); pay rate is $12.50/h. The session dates: August 28, 2017- May 2, 2018. The attendees will have an opportunity to meet with SPIN mentors, ask questions about the SPIN program and discuss projects.

The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) has a history of nurturing innovative concepts, and some of the best ideas have come from highly motivated, creative undergraduates. The SPIN (Students Pushing Innovation) internship program was launched to provide University of Illinois undergraduates with the opportunity to apply their skills to real challenges in computing and data analysis, bioinformatics and health sciences, earth and environment, materials and manufacturing, physics and astronomy, visualization, cybersecurity, and other areas of interest to NCSA.
