Since April 2001, Dr. Gloudon has been the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’s High Commissioner to Jamaica and non-resident Ambassador to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Prior to this appointment Dr. Gloudon served as Director of Sport and Physical Education at the University of the West Indies. She was an accomplished international field hockey athlete, representing Trinidad and Tobago over ten years. She was the 1979 Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Hockey Player of the Year and Trinidad and Tobago Sportswoman of the Year nominee and in 1992 became the first and only woman to win the Trinidad and Tobago Sports Administrator of the Year Award. In 2012, Rev. Dr. Iva Gloudon was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Commonwealth Sports Foundation. She is also an ordained minister.
