Cultural Celebrations Performance Series: 4th Sunday of the month 1:00–1:45pm. The family-friendly Cultural Celebrations Performance Series highlights music, dance, and storytelling from around the world on the 4th Sunday of the month 1:00–1:45pm. This series continues through the fall semester:
September 24: Jason Finkelman: A Philadelphia-born percussionist, Finkelman performs on African and Brazilian instruments handcrafted by African percussionist and instrument maker Adimu Kuumba. Finkelman specializes in the berimbau, a musical bow originating in Africa and recognized today in the accompaniment of the martial art capoeira. Finkelman's artistic concerns focus on improvised music, cross-cultural collaborative projects, and composition for dance, theater, and film.
