Not only is Senko Ikenobo designated to be the first female Headmaster of the Ikenobo Ikebana School of Floral Art in its more than 550 years of recorded history, but she will be an honored guest presenter at Japan House’s Fall Open House on Saturday, October 21, 2017, and also exhibiting and demonstrating her extraordinary talents at Krannert Center that same weekend. Congratulations to the Illinois Prairie Chapter of the Ikenobo Society of America on their 20th anniversary. This is an incredible way to celebrate!
Japan House needs a few volunteers to assist the Ikebana group with their exhibition at Krannert Center. Volunteers will receive a complimentary ticket for the demonstration that Sunday afternoon. If you are available to help on Thursday, October 19, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, or Sunday, October 22, from 1:00 to 5:00 or 5:00 to 9:00 pm, or Monday, October 23 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, please email japanhouse@illinois.edu to get further information.
