What? Step off campus one afternoon a week to participate in a fun and rewarding experience in the local community! Build a positive relationship with a Latinx emergent bilingual/biliterate student in grades 2-5 while assisting the child with reading and homework completion.
Where? International Prep Academy (IPA), 1605 W. Kirby Ave., Champaign, IL. IPA is a dual language school in the Champaign Unit 4 School District
When? The SOAR after-school program takes place from 2:00-3:15 every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the International Prep Academy. You are asked to make a weekly volunteer commitment on the day that best fits into your semester schedule.
How do I get to the Elementary School? The 10 Gold MTD bus route offers a convenient ride from campus to IPA with a bus stop in the front of the school (intersection of Kirby and Rose). There is also the possibility of carpooling with other tutors.
