From CHP alumna Jessica Leiding:
“I am a CHP alum and have been working at Google for 10 years. We're recruiting new college grads, so I was hoping you can pass the below email on to the graduating CHP students. Multiple teams at Google are taking applications from current students, and they love to get referrals of great candidates from current employees. As you can imagine, Google has really high standards for hiring, so naturally I thought of the CHP. I've sent this email a few times in past years to the program as well, and have gotten a few Honor students interviews or jobs at the company!
For graduating seniors: You can check out positions and info for new grads at careers.google.com/students and search the jobs list here. Once you find a role you'd like to apply for, just send me an email with your resume, and I'd be happy to refer you. Being referred definitely makes a difference in your chances of getting an interview! If you fill out the online application first, the referral may not count, so wait until after I refer you :).
New roles are being posted all the time, so set up the search email alerts or keep an eye on it. One thing to note is that most jobs are in the engineering and tech teams, but there are also jobs in HR (called PeopleOps), advertising, sales, business, and more. My major was Psych and Spanish, and I have co-workers from lots of backgrounds: English, Business, Advertising, Finance, Micro-Biology, Philosophy, and lots more.
Feel free to send me your resume/info at jleiding@google.com. And by the way, I really love working at Google. It definitely lives up to its reputation for being a great company. :)”
