The Scholar Adventurer’s Series (SAS) consists of events offered throughout the year by faculty members and others from a variety of disciplines who are engaged in interesting research projects or special educational endeavors. Students entering the CHP in Fall 2018 or later must participate in eight SAS programs to graduate with CHP honors, and you can register for as many as you would like each semester. More info:

The Krannert Dress Rehearsals (KDR) are held at The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, an educational and performing arts complex located at 500 South Goodwin Street in Urbana. Students are required to attend one KDR to fulfill CHP requirements. To receive CHP credit, students must attend the lecture and performance. Each lecture starts at 6:30 p.m. and is held in the Krannert Room. Tickets will be distributed following the lecture. Since there are a limited number of tickets available for each KDR, students can only register for one KDR per semester. More info:

Students may register for KDR programs and SAS events at https://calendars.illinois.edu/list/4956, which is located in the “Students” tab on the CHP website. Registration began at 2 p.m. on Friday, 8/23/19. All events and programs have a limited number of spots available, so register early to save your place. The following link http://honors.illinois.edu/docs/CHP_Registration_Video.m4v offers a very short video tutorial on the registration process.
If an event is full, please send an email to chp@illinois.edu telling us which event you are interested in attending, and we will notify you if space is available.
If you need to cancel a registration, please delete your submission using the link in the confirmation email (which you will receive a few days before the program), and contact the CHP at chp@illinois.edu. Doing so may allow another student the opportunity to attend and fulfill a requirement.
