CHP is ordering books for the first 20 students who sign up to attend the SAS with Eboo Patel on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the University YMCA, including lunch.
Eboo is a CHP alumnus and author, and the event will be a discussion of his book Acts of Faith. This book is mostly about his time at the U of I, his life in Allen Hall, and his developing sense of his own identity during that time. His work has led to the creation of the UI chapter of Interfaith in Action, part of the Interfaith Youth Core, the national organization that he established. [This program is being offered in conjunction with events sponsored by the Campus/Community Interfaith Oversight Committee.] Former Rhodes Scholar, and Founder and President of Interfaith Youth Core. Dr. Patel was a member of President Barack Obama's inaugural Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships and was named by U.S. News and World Reports as one of America’s Best Leaders in 2009. He is the author of four books, including Acts of Faith.
