Undergraduate Research -- Synthetic Biology and Photosynthesis Engineering - Algae and Crops
Would you like to practice your molecular biology skills while discovering new ways to engineer photosynthesis? The Leonelli Lab is looking for creative and committed undergraduate students to join our team of researchers. Projects are sponsored by RIPE (Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency) and would fall into one of the following categories:
- Transcriptome analysis of soybean or cowpea
- Identification and validation of plant promoter sequences
- Developing new modules for synthetic biology in plants
- Chloroplast proteomics
- Functional exploration of algal genes
- Discovery of carotenoid biosynthetic pathways
Who you are:
- A sophomore, junior, or senior excited about science
- A mature and respectful colleague
- A reliable person, with good follow-through
- A meticulous record keeper
Compensation: This position can be compensated either hourly or for course credit.
