UNEMPS Postbac Application Announcement
The Unit for Nanoengineering and MicroPhysiological Systems (UNEMPS) under the NIBIB Section for Immunoengineering is seeking a recent college graduate for a 1–2-year (2yr preferred) NIH IRTA Postbaccalaureate research position to begin in Fall 2022. Research conducted in UNEMPS will focus on developing in vitro microfluidic models of autoimmune diseases and cancer, in addition to evaluating immune responses to biological nanoparticles. The postbac position is full-time and the researcher will have opportunities to be trained in cell culture, microfluidics, nanoparticle characterization, ELISA assays, and other biological techniques. Prior research experience, especially with microfluidics or nanoparticles, is preferred but not required.
In addition to receiving mentorship and advice from their research mentors, postbacs in the NIH Intramural Research Program have access to the Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE), which provides career development opportunities and a variety of workshops to help students with the graduate school application process.

To be eligible, candidates must also be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. In addition, they should intend to apply to graduate or professional school during their tenure at the NIH (if they have not already been accepted).
