The Cancer Center at Illinois (CCIL) will hold an Undergraduate Experiential Learning Symposium on October 12th from 4:00-6:00 pm in the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science & Technology Atrium. Experiential learning is "learning by doing" and includes activities like undergraduate research, internships, research/study abroad, service learning, and more. The CCIL invites undergraduate students from CCIL programs or those who are working with CCIL members to create and present a poster highlighting experiential learning opportunities they have completed. Undergraduates who have not participated in such experiences yet are also strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about the benefits of experiential learning directly from their peers. Registration is required - please register here.
Deadlines:
- Abstract submission: September 25, 2023
- Notification of abstract acceptance: September 28, 2023
- Poster due to CCIL for printing: October 9, 2023 by 6:00 am
- Registration closes for general attendance: October 6, 2023
Abstracts are limited to 300 words and should (1) describe the experience, (2) describe how the experience relates to cancer research, and (3) describe how the participant found the experience. The abstract should be your “elevator pitch” for your poster. Due to space limitations, not all submitted abstracts will be accepted.
Information on traveling to Beckman Institute and parking can be found here. This event is made possible thanks to a generous donation from the Illini 4000.
