Seeking undergraduate researcher with coding experience to construct a custom software platform using LabView. This software will be used to control a nanosecond laser spectrophotometer, which measures the optical absorbance spectra of chemical compounds while they react. The software needs to control two types of hardware: an oscilloscope which produces voltage vs. time data and measures rates, and a monochromator which produces wavelength vs. intensity data and allows us to identify molecular interactions. Both of these pieces of hardware have LabView software development kits that allow for integration into a single LabView program. All skilled candidates are encouraged to apply.
Pay rate of $15/hour on a flexible schedule. Alternatively, course credit is possible.
Looking for someone who can commit to at least 15 hours per week and is interested in seeing this project through to completion. Opportunities for future research operating the laser system to study chemical reactions are also possible!
