Give One More Reason For Employers to Hire You!
The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and the International and Area Studies Library (IASL) are excited to unveil the International & Area Studies Research Certificate. This certificate is designed to support students who are already enrolled in a degree program, but are interested in exploring the cultures and languages of the world, as well as the environment, economic and political systems.
There are four main requirements that students will have to complete throughout their undergraduate career. These include two presentations of original research, nine hours of coursework related to undergraduate research, enrollment in a second language course at a 300-level or above, and attendance at one campus workshop on undergraduate or professional research presentation. Additional information is available at https://go.illinois.edu/IASCertificate_Apply
Although the certificate will not appear on official transcripts, students can add it to resumes and present it to potential employers as part of their overall undergraduate education.
Students in the College of Business, College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, and College of Engineering are encouraged to participate.
