We are looking for motivated undergraduate students to work on neuromechanics project in Saif research lab. We are a research group in the mechanical engineering department led by professor Taher Saif. The main objective of the neuromechanics project is to understand the role of mechanical tension in the neuron. We have developed a force sensor that can measure the force of neurons at the nano-newton level. Mouse, Rat, and Drosophila fruit fly are some of the model organisms used in this project. The researcher will have the opportunity to be trained in cell culture, in-vitro tissue formation, Fruit fly embryo/larval dissection, image analysis, etc.
Hours and Compensation: This is an experience for course credit.
