Twelve professors at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have been selected to participate in the 2020-2021 Building Pathways for Emerging Leaders Fellows program.
This year’s fellows include: Justin Aronoff, speech and hearing science; Amanda Ciafone, media and cinema studies; Anna Dilger, animal sciences; Patrick Hammie, art and design; Myung-Ja “MJ” Han, University Library; Carla Hunter, psychology; Emily Knox, information sciences; Jessica Li, education policy, organization and leadership; Denise Loyd, business administration; Mimi Nguyen, gender and women’s studies; Marci Uihlein, architecture; Chi-Fang Wu, social work.
The goal of the Building Pathways program is to increase the pool of potential academic leaders on our campus. The year-long leadership development program is designed for faculty members at the associate professor and full professor rank who demonstrate leadership potential in their current role.
The program selects emerging leaders who have an interest in exploring leadership and administrative roles. Faculty members do not have to be in an administrative or titled position to participate, but may have served as leaders in the department, college, or campus through committee assignments or other similar activities.
