The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is thrilled to return to in-person Open House events this year, and to welcome our future students and their families to campus!
For more than 100 years, U of I has been hosting open houses each spring. Today, busloads of students come from across the state for the chance to experience a bit of campus life - and to be awed by our cutting edge science. Your hosts are current Illini students, all eager to share their projects and their Illinois experience.

March 25, 2022 (admitted students only)
Join us for our Admitted Student Virtual Open house on Friday, March 25! Speak with current students, professors, Dean Vikram Amar and Executive Assistant Dean for Career Services, Greg Miarecki. There's even a mock class you can attend.

April 8 and 9, 2022
This is the event that started it all in 1920! Students from every discipline of engineering set up exhibits to remind the general public of the role that science plays in everyday life and to show the difference that technology will make in the future. Exhibits range from robotic hands, solar cars, and a coffee-serving robot, to an oobleck pool and DIY plastic. Events will include a fire demo from the Illini Fire Service Institute, a Tesla Coil concert, a Startup Showcase, prospective student panels, and much more!
Engineering Open House
April 9, 2022 (admitted students only)
Students will have the opportunity to meet some of their faculty, new classmates, and current Media students, and student organizations. Through a series of panels, workshops, and discussion activities, admitted freshmen will learn more about their curriculum, getting involved in student media, and what it means to be a Media student at Illinois. Mediapalooza is the BEST way to decide that Illinois is the place for you!

Agriculture and food are key to what we do, but the college of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciencees offers much more than you might imagine.
This year, ACES has focused our events in four areas: Environment, Sustainability & Climate, April 22; Agriculture, April 25; Animals, April 29; and Food, Nutrition & Health, May 2.

If you like an animals, this is the place to be! Explore veterinary careers and academic majors. Demos and live animal exhibits include dog obedience, a farrier (horse-shoeing) demo, the famous fistulated cow (stick your hand inside a cow's stomachs), kids’ tent, sheep shearing, goat milking, and visits with animals from our wildlife medical clinic.And, while our in-person events are held in October, you can visit our Virtual Open House site anytime.
