Above is a video outlining the steps for greating a new UIC or UIUC branded email skin. Below are the written steps for creating a new UIC or UIUC branded email skin in Webtools for your forms, blogs, surveys, calendars, or emails.
First, in the Webtools menu, go to the More dropdown menu at the top right of the screen. Select the Skin Designer tool by hovering over the menu.
Once you are in the Skin Designer Webtool, click the yellow +Create button in the top middle of the screen to open the Create a New Skin menu.
You have the choice to create an Email+ or an Application skin. To create a branded UIUC or UIC skin, click either the Illinois Wizard or UIC Wizard options under either the Email+ Skins or Application Skins column.
After you make a selection, click the blue Create Skin button at the bottom of the page.
The Skin Designer will open on the General tab. Give your skin a name (making sure to click Save in the top right after each change). Once you name your skin, click on the Skin tab (next to the General tab).
Next, you will see the Basic Design Settings. Under the Header section, you are able to type the name of of your unit/department/program/school under the Primary label. There is a space under the Primary label to add a URL to your area's website.
If your program/department/school is under a unit, department, or college, you can add its name and URL in the Secondary label as well.
To view your progress, click Save and then the View button.
Next, you can add your Social Media elements by Choosing the Network and pasting in the URL. Then, click Add. This will correctly insert your Social Media into your footer. Click Save.
For the footer information, you can click Insert Example to insert an example of the ideal formatting with the name of your Primary and Secondary label and the URLs already included. From there, you can paste in the address and contact information based on the formatting of the example.
After you are done adding the contents to your skin, you can click on the Access tab at the top of the screen. Under this tab, you can grant access to your department/unit by locating it under the drop down menu under the Unit or Department section.
Click Add department/unit to add it to your access list. Now, anyone from that department will be able to use the new skin.
On the Privileges tab, you can grant admin to a person or group by adding their NetID. This will grant them editing access.
Those are the steps for creating a new Email+ or Application skin with campus branding. You can use this method to create any department, college, school, or program skin with this branding.
