Webtools Short URLs now support QR codes. QR codes allow you to reach, engage and convert a wider target audience by linking from offline to online platforms. QR codes are often used in billboards, magazines, web pages or anywhere, allowing users to access information instantly. Short URLs can be updated (changing the long/destination URL), and the QR code will continue to work correctly.
How to use a QR code
QR codes can be generated in Webtools at the bottom of the General tab when editing any Short URL. To use the QR code, simply click/download the image. Images are 1000 x 1000 pixels and can be reduced as needed. If you are using tiny images, please remember to test the QR code with your phone. The smaller the image, the harder it is to scan on a phone or other device.
Best Practice
Once you have shared the QR code, please don't change the short URL name. You can change the long URL, but don't change the short URL name. This will change the QR code. Instead, create a brand new Short URL if you need a different short URL name. The QR code structure is based on the short URL name.
