Position Summary:
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is conducting the National Wetland Condition Assessment (NWCA) in the summer of 2021 to assess the condition of the nation’s freshwater and estuarine wetland habitats. The Environmental Institute of Houston (EIH) at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) has been contracted to sample these wetland sites across Texas. We are currently recruiting up to 5 positions to assist with field sampling with dates ranging from April-October, 2021; starting and ending dates can be flexible depending on availability. All work will be based out of Houston, TX, but extensive travel is required to conduct state-wide field work. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable field experience in all aspects of wetland condition assessment including water quality, vegetation, soil, and wetland stressors using EPA rapid assessment methods.
