Job Title: Forestry Technician
Job Type: full-time, seasonal (summer 2026)
Start Date: May 2026 or as available
Starting Pay: $23.85/hr
Location: - Based in central Missouri (Columbia area)
- multi-day work trips around the state will be required, depending on the location of each
project (travel expenses are covered)
Required: - Ability/desire to work all day in sometimes thick forested environments in all weather
conditions
- Ability to drive to a local meeting place (typically the crew supervisor’s home) or a job
site as needed
- Ability to work on sometimes steep and uneven terrain on a daily basis
Preferred: - Working knowledge of tree and shrub identification in the Central Hardwoods
- Education in Forestry or related fields
Job Duties / Types of Projects:
- This position will primarily consist of forest invasive species control, mostly by foliar
treatment with backpack sprayers
- Duties may also include:
o Forest Stand Improvement, both by chainsaw and hack & squirt
o Timber Sale marking and sale oversight
o Forest Inventory
