The Idaho Panhandle National Forests is looking for an energetic and engaging individual to fill a challenging staff position on our fantastic forest. We will soon be advertising and filling a Vegetation Management Staff Officer (GS-0401-13) vacancy with a duty station in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Coeur d'Alene is a highly desirable location with great amenities and year round outdoor opportunities.
This individual reports directly to the Forest Supervisor and is a member of the Forest Leadership Team. The position is responsible for the vegetation management program, including oversight of the Forest’s 5 Year Action Plan, an integrated vegetation management plan. The position also manages the Forest’s range and NEPA programs. There is routine coordination with the Ecosystem Staff Officer to implement an integrated program of work through the NFRR fund code. The position also coordinates timber management plans with other activities such stewardship, fuels, silviculture, and appeals and litigation. The incumbent provides program direction and evaluation of these programs and related activities.
