Wildlife Biologist III, Grade 15, Auto req ID 44097BR, competitive and open to all qualified applicants
Agency / Work County: Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Franklin County, Kentucky.
This is permanent, full-time position located at the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources Headquarters, 1 Sportsman’s Lane, Frankfort, Kentucky.
Responsibilities: This position will assist with the development of a grouse management plan, working with KY Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources staff, volunteers, agency partners, and other state and federal agencies in species specific research with an emphasis on forest habitat management on public and private lands.
Some day and occasional overnight travel is required. Occasional weekend and night work is also required. Specific training for chemical immobilization and prescribed fire may be required. This position may be called upon to help handle potentially dangerous wildlife.

Certification by The Wildlife Society at the Associate Wildlife Biologist or Certified Wildlife Biologist level will substitute for the course requirements. Preferred candidates will exhibit an in-depth understanding of and experience with grouse and forest habitat management. A valid Driver’s License is required for the duration of employment in this position.
Salary Range: Minimum: $38,770.08 - Midpoint: $51,361.20
