Location: Conservation Corps Minnesota & Iowa, Various, Minnesota.
Qual: Spend the summer working alongside natural resource professionals! AmeriCorps Conservation
Academy Apprentices (ages 18-25) serve in a Minnesota Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD),
learning hands-on skills in managing soil and water resources. Management projects may include service
and groundwater monitoring, wetland and watercourse inventories and assessments, preparation for costshare
and easement programs, field surveying and site inspections, and coordinating educational
programs. Apprentices may also communicate with local landowners to develop management plans,
gather input on best practices and provide education materials on water resources. -- AmeriCorps service
position (ages 18-25) -- Term: May 16 – August 12, 2016 -- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00
a.m.-4:30 p.m. typical. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. -- Stipend: $1255/mo--
Education award: $1515.55 upon successful completion of term -- 31 SWCD locations across

to service and community work. -- Ability to work outdoors across varied terrain and in all weather
conditions. -- Strong communication skills, with the ability to educate and interact with landowners and
community members. -- Academic and/or field experience in natural resources preferred. 18-25 years old.
-- Valid driver’s license and good driving record. -- Full term of service must be completed in order to
