Position: Laboratory Technician, Academic Hourly Position
Start date: March 1, 2016 (flexible)
Primary Position Function/Summary:
Conduct research on the physiological responses of freshwater mussels.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Processing samples for gene expression analysis including, but not limited to, extracting RNA, synthesizing cDNA, and running PCRs.
Collect and organize research data and write research reports.
Interpret research analyses.
Collaborate and contribute as a member of a team of researchers.
Education:
Required: Bachelors degree in science (e.g., biology)
Preferred: Masters degree in science (e.g., biology)
Experience:
Required: Previous experience using molecular biology techniques
Preferred: Previous experience with the molecular techniques outlined above (see Major Duties and Responsibilities)
Knowledge Requirement:
Required: A background in biology and molecular biology
